Main Accountabilities
Assist with preparation of month-end accounts for head office and portfolio companies
- Assist with the preparation of month-end accounts for head office and portfolio companies including collation and input of portfolio company TB’s
- Accounting journals and management of payment processes where required
- Providing analysis and commentary of significant movements month on month or to budget and investigating significant variances
- Performance of head office reconciliations including fixed assets, cash, accounts payable, employee liabilities
Assist with reporting and compliance obligations
- Preparation of monthly BAS, GST and FBT returns
- Assist with the coordination the completion and audit of full year Statutory Financial Statements
- Roll forward and populate monthly reporting packs and templates required by Exco and shareholders
- Collation and consolidation of budget templates
Projects and Other
- Assist roll out of any head office finance initiatives e.g. standardisation of reporting templates, implementation of new accounting standards
- Report and liaise directly with other members of the finance team, assist with ad hoc duties.
- Escalate and report system related issues and errors
- Assist in the onboarding of new acquisitions into the Software Combined reporting cycle
- Building relationships and responding to any portfolio or head office stakeholder queries;
Key Skills & Competences
- Degree qualified (Bachelor of Business or equivalent, with an accounting major)
- 2+ years of accounting/bookkeeping/audit experience, previous experience in SAAS companies desirable but not essential
- Previous experience of consolidations of multi jurisdiction groups also desirable but not essential
- Possess a sound understanding of, and exposure to, Accounting Standards namely AASB 116 Property, Plant & Equipment; AASB 16 Leases; and AASB 138 Intangible Assets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
- Experienced in using Xero, MYOB Advanced and Netsuite (preferred)
- Team player and can work independently
- Attention to detail and task accuracy
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills
