Purpose:

To ensure SBS Board, management and staff are provided with timely and accurate management and financial information. To prepare various external returns, financial analysis and update and maintenance of accounting and reporting systems.

Key Result Areas:

The Senior Management Accountant has responsibility for the following key result areas:

Reporting

• Responsible for the preparation of monthly management and financial reporting for SBS Head Office and Retail departments.
• Responsible for preparation of monthly financial reporting for the SBS Board.
• Responsible for preparation of monthly RBNZ reporting.
• Contributes where required to all other SBS reporting obligations in respect to external parties, regulators and agencies including RBNZ, rating agencies, securitisation trustees, banks (bank covenant reports), Companies Office, Securities Commission, Statistics NZ, Treasury, and Ministry of Economic Development.

Taxation/ Legislation

• Responsible for completion of monthly taxation calculations for all entities under SBS accounting responsibility.
• Maintains requisite knowledge of taxation issues such as income tax, FBT, GST and entertainment tax.

Systems

• Monitors performance of accounting systems and subsidiary ledgers and through liaison with system suppliers, facilitates enhancements to recording and reporting.
• Responsible for maintenance and development of Finance One accounting system and related financial management information systems including development of reporting and administrative functions.
• Responsible for the set up and maintenance of users within Finance One
• Responsible for data integrity within Finance One including undertaking monthly audit reviews of all system changes functions.

Fixed Assets

• Responsible for collating fixed asset information and updating the fixed asset registers (tax and accounting) to maintain their integrity and accuracy, including the collating and calculating of in-house software development.
• Ensures SBS’s fixed asset policy is adhered to by the information that flows from management.
• Prepares and distributes monthly capital expenditure reports to SBS management.

Operational Activities

• Maintains sufficient knowledge of FMA duties to provide day-to-day operational backup in the event of their absence.
• Operationally manages the Accounts Officer and maintains full knowledge and capability of carrying out their duties.
• Responsible for maintaining a detailed task analysis manual of job functions that the position is responsible for.
• Responsible for ensuring familiarity with and adherence to all SBS policy and procedures.
• Contributes to the flow of communication within the Finance and Accounting team by actively participating in staff meetings.

• Support the Luxembourg-based RC (‘responsable du contrôle du respect des obligations’) and the Know Your Asset (‘KYA’) teams in carrying out their daily responsibilities concerning AML/KYC compliance for both external and internal parties.

• Assisting the Depositary team in ensuring each Client Fund or Fund entity have supplied sufficient documentary evidence to prove effective legal title over the assets they claim to own;
• You understand risk factors across each asset class and/or the location of assets;
• You understand the legal frameworks under which assets are held;
• Assisting the Depositary team in ensuring each Client Fund or Fund entity cash flows are in consistent with its operations and cash balances reconciled
• Assisting the Depositary team in ensuring ongoing Client compliance with the AIFMD
• Taking responsibility for the duties delegated to you and to ensure that any concerns or potential risks are mitigated and where appropriate escalated to the Depositary Manager;
• Taking the initiative and to suggest new procedures to efficiently and effectively assist the team going forward;

• Responsible for overseeing workflow management in Manilla for payment processing and banking admin tasks. 
• Responsible for preparing work to agreed internal deadlines to the expected standard
• Knowledge of Trident and banking systems including a good understanding of various client payment processes
• Knowledge of payment cut offs, internal deadlines for payment processing and ensuring early escalation of issues to GPT team managers in Belfast
• Minimize risk to IQ EQ by following procedures and checklists
• Act as Trainor to our new team members
• Be proactive in identifying development and training requirements

• Tasks (what does the role do on a day-to-day basis)

• Ensure all payments are appropriately processed, and all emails received into the team mailboxes are actioned
• Ensure all payments are processed accurately and delivered to required timescale
• Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with GPT Managers and authorizers
• Identify areas for improvement re: GPT processes and offer solutions
• Providing support and training to the rest of the team, and other teams as required

This role primarily provides day-to-day administrative support and coordination related to the full knowledge management lifecycle and maintenance of the internal HR knowledge base. 

• Contribute in the creation and maintenance of knowledge and content following standard operating procedures and methodologies  

• Format HTML codes into knowledge articles 

• Perform analysis of content requirements and coordinate translation requests following the standard process set  

• Coordinate with global stakeholders on article creation and updates 

• Maintain knowledge assets and ensure clear, consistent, and unambiguous knowledge management repository  

• Conduct knowledge base system maintenance checks 

• Participate in testing before and after every system release 

• Assist in maintaining system performance records 

• Maintain historical records and reports of system usage, and knowledge articles inventory 

• May provide input and insight on employee feedback to support identification and execution of content-related project opportunities 

• May take part in projects related to research, creation, and maintenance of Knowledge Management resource materials 

• Escalate and analyze identified issues and concerns to the Team Lead for timely resolution 

• Maintain current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required 

• Perform simple but varied tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, and procedures 

• Assess identified issues and collate documentation to assist in investigating and in resolving common and recurring issues  

• Support selected simple process improvement initiatives to streamline processes
