We are seeking an exceptional Omnichannel / International Ecommerce Merchandiser leader to oversee our international website merchandising strategy. In this role, you will manage weekly/bi-weekly updates to our Shopify website at 9 PM PST, ensuring that new collections, promotions, and product information are accurately reflected across our omnichannel platforms. This includes both domestic and international websites, as well as marketplaces including Amazon, Target.com, and others.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing the online shopping experience across all markets and platforms, including our website and mobile app, ensuring consistency of messaging and experience.

Key Areas of Accountability

• Website & Omnichannel Updates: Upload new collections, promotions, and product information to the website either monthly, biweekly, or weekly at 9 PM PST depending on the season, ensuring that all updates are consistent across website and app experiences.
• International & Omnichannel Optimization: Assist in the optimization of international websites, ensuring localized content, pricing, and product availability are tailored to local preferences, languages, and regional demands.
• Product Display & Merchandising: Organize products on the website in a visually appealing and user-friendly way. Maintain category and collection pages, banners, and promotions that reflect both online and seasonal trends.
• Quality Control: Perform regular checks to ensure that all content displayed on the website, app, and across international sites is accurate, up-to-date, and error-free.
• Reporting & Analytics: Monitor website performance across both domestic and international sites using analytics tools including Shopify and Heap, providing insights for continuous improvement. Track product visibility, sales performance, and the success of updates to collections, promotions, and omnichannel campaigns. Provide performance feedback from both website and app channels to improve overall strategy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, creative, and localization teams to ensure website content and promotions are aligned with overall brand strategy, seasonal campaigns, and regional preferences. Collaborate with commercial, merchandising, and localization teams to ensure timely launches of promotions and collections across all channels. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve any discrepancies in product information, pricing, or promotions across all channels and markets.

• Proven experience in e-commerce merchandising, website management, or a related field.
• Familiarity with the Shopify customizer (CMS).
• Experience with international e-commerce websites and localization strategies is also beneficial.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Comfortable working independently and managing tasks during evening hours.
• Understanding of omnichannel strategies across DTC websites and marketplaces.
• Ecommerce merchandising experience, including optimizing product grid sorts and product recommendation algorithms.
• Basic knowledge of SEO practices and digital marketing is a plus.

Technical Proficiency

• Experience with website analytics tools and product feed management, ideally Heap, Feedonomics, and Shopify.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).

Communication & Collaboration

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams, including marketing, merchandising, retail, and customer service.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and work cross-functionally to resolve them.

Additional Requirements

• Availability to work a consistent shift starting at 9 PM PST on a weekly basis (flexible hours may be possible for the right candidate).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with international e-commerce regulations, localization strategies, and omnichannel retail best practices is a plus.

The Senior eCommerce Merchandiser (Contract) Reports directly to the Senior Manager, eCommerce Merchandising and is responsible for assisting in the formulation of online merchandising plans, providing direction and overseeing the execution of these for Balsam Hill’s International websites.

What you'll be doing:

Online Merchandising Planning

1. Shares in the development of site merchandising plans for various onsite content including site navigation, landing pages, homepage, product pages and more, to support new assortment and project strategies.
2. Uses data to provide information and make recommendation for strategies to be used for future plans.
3. Develops strategies for product recommendations and other personalization tactics based on customer buying history; coordinates execution.
4. Keeps product pages to visual standard and ensures product and marketing strategies are represented effectively.
5. Works cross functionally to develop site campaigns, plans and content.
6. Supports online merchandising roadmap initiatives to optimize user experience.

Project Planning and Management 

1. Provides direction for the task creation on project management tools for deliverables that support site merchandising plans.
2. Reviews dependencies and considerations and includes these in the planning of tasks and timings to ensure a smooth execution of the plans.
3. Understands risks and formulates mitigation measures to guarantee minimal business impact.
4. Coordinates with the Ecommerce Operations, Product Information Management, Digital Asset Management, SEO, Product Management, Marketing and Creative teams to accomplish site merchandising deliverables within set parameters and timelines.
5. Reviews and signs off on tasks assigned to verify accuracy and quality of the end result for all tasks within the project.
6. Ensures alignment of Creative projects with business goals

Site and User Experience Audit

1. Performs regular site audits to
   1. identify gaps and inaccuracies in product information, assets, or links that affects over-all user experience;
   2. optimize overall customer experience including product discovery and placement.
2. Understands site structure, pages, and integrations and identifies and reports the issues based on the audit.

Site Performance Reporting

1. Pulls and reviews site data to compare against KPIs. Extrapolates key findings and formulates actions.
2. Prepares and presents site performance reports to various stakeholders with clear next steps based on analysis.

Documentation

1.  Documents internal process and bridges identified gaps to ensure efficient process flows.

What you bring to the table:  

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Ecommerce, Marketing, Business Management, Economics, or Data related fields.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for teamwork and collaboration, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships with broad group of business partners.
• Highly literate in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Outlook; Experience working with Google Analytics and Power BI is a plus.

Location: The Senior eCommerce Merchandiser (Contract) position is a work-from-home position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.

Our must-haves:

• Must have a back-up laptop or desktop for use, if primary laptop encounters issues.
• Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 10MBPS.
• Must have a back-up internet connection of the same speed, if primary connection becomes spotty.

About the Role:

In this role, you will use your expertise in Content Management Systems to manage and optimize Shopify stores. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that all product listings are engaging, accurate, and effectively optimized to drive customer interaction and sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Shopify Theme set up and Customization: Customize our Shopify theme to meet the unique branding and design requirements of our designs. This includes modifying layouts, fonts, colors, and other visual elements to create visually appealing and on-brand online stores.
• Product Presentation: Optimize product pages to effectively showcase products information, images and user flow.
• Homepage Design: Design and customize homepage layouts to highlight featured products, promotions, and brand messaging. Merchandise content sections, banners, and sliders to match design and client requirements.
• Pixel perfect store set up: Ability to create pixel perfect replicas of designs and taking into account image quality, component sizes and section layouts.
• Navigation and Filtering: Implement intuitive navigation menus and product filters that match the store designs. Organize products into categories and subcategories to facilitate easy navigation and product discovery.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in Shopify development is preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Shopify coding languages, including CSS, Liquid, HTML, and JavaScript, with a solid understanding of CSS and HTML for designing and implementing processes within Shopify.
• Proven experience with CSS Grid and Flexbox, particularly in the context of UI design and layout optimization.
• Familiarity with the Tailwind CSS framework or equivalent CSS frameworks.
• Experience with Shopify's CLI tool is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of meta objects and meta fields in Shopify for managing dynamic data.

Main responsibilities

• Prepare weekly new launches on the website, and manage all key PLPs to ensure relevant assortment receive the right amount of exposure  
• Plan and support key consumer moments
• Analyse and monitor sales performance vs targets, onsite traffic, customer satisfaction and provide insights and recommendations to improve sales, onsite experience and optimise traffic engagement
