• Timely processing of payments across the region/s handled by strictly following the payment calendars.
• Completes the payment batch with 100% accuracy i.e. total payment value, currency
• Monitors the banking system and validate the status of each payment batch
• Communicates and/or escalates pending authorization in the banking flatform to ensure that all payments will be released as per country specific bank cut-off.  
• Adheres to SGS Intercompany netting calendar. Final netting position should be coordinated with Record to Report Intercompany Team.
• Ensures that non-standard payment runs (outside the regular schedule) are properly supported with business reason and necessary approvals.
• Assists with the resolution of discrepancies or problems that prohibit timely processing of payments in the system.
• Responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding status of payment.
• Working closely with R2R team in ensuring that no AP transactions are outstanding in the bank reconciliation and cash management.
• Ensure monthly checklists are completed by the month end and signed off by P2P Supervisor

Primary Responsibilities

Perform day to day tasks within the Procure to Pay (P2P) stream such as daily invoice processing (PO
and Non-PO), expense reports audit, as well as support month-end closing activities.

The performance should meet the requirements defined in the SLA/KPI's.

Specifiic Responsibilities

Timely and accurate review, validation, and processing of incoming invoices (e.g., PO,
Non-PO, credit card statements) to accounting system.
Ensure that invoices are properly coded and booked in accordance to SGS Chart of
Accounts.
Verify that the invoices comply with SGS policies and procedures.
Audit travel and expense liquidation in accordance with existing rules and regulations.
Process prepayments and follow up on prepaid invoices.
Handle supplier statements and vendor inquiries.
Provide support and assistance to colleagues with respect to accounting information
Respond to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding outstanding P2P
inquiries (e.g. invoices, payments, travel, and expenses audit responses).
Follow up on match exceptions and coordinate with Business and Procurement for the
resolution.
Work closely with R2R team in ensuring that no AP transactions are outstanding in the
bank reconciliation.
Follow up on transactions on the long-outstanding items in the Accounts Payables Trial
Balance (Ageing)
Follow up on open Purchase Orders and invoices on hold
Prepare and review accruals and any other month end P2P transactions
Assist in AP Subledger close and other month end activities
Ensure monthly checklists are completed by the month end and signed off by P2P
Supervisor.

Support P2P Supervisor in ensuring that internal controls are effective and in place and that
KPIs are met.
Assist P2P Supervisor in preparing reports (e.g., KPI reports), spearheading P2P Analysts
and any other adhoc activities.
Support P2P Supervisor and FSSC Manager in managing stakeholder expectations.
Support process improvement initiatives.

As a Specialist (Senior Accountant), you will be part of a team responsible for performing day to day tasks within the Procure to Pay (P2P) stream - (Accounts Payable, Expense and Procurement) as well as Month End Closing process and some other specific accounting activities.

The performance should meet the requirements defined in the SLA/KPI’s (timeliness, accuracy).

As a P2P Specialist you will be performing various tasks within the P2P process including but not limited to:

·         Identifies invoice and purchase order discrepancies and offers solutions

·         Assisting with the resolution of discrepancies or problems that prohibit timely processing of invoices in the system.

·         Providing support and assistance to colleagues with respect to accounting information

·         Responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding outstanding P2P inquiries (e.g. invoices, payments, travel and expenses audit responses).

·         Following up on match exceptions and coordinating with Business

·         Working closely with R2R team in ensuring that no AP transactions are outstanding in the bank reconciliation and cash management.
