We’re looking for a Wise Philippines Compliance Officer to strengthen our compliance team. Based in Manila, Philippines. you will work with a growing team of multidisciplinary specialists globally (Product, Treasury, Expansion, Engineers) to help build world-class products in the Philippines. You’ll also manage and strengthen the teams’ relationships with regulators by being the regulator’s point of contact, keeping everybody informed and protecting our most valuable asset – our customers.

Your mission:

• Building and continuously improving the compliance program in line with our mission to be instant, convenient, transparent and eventually free.
• Maintain our regulatory licence for the Philippines: (i) regulatory reporting and filing, (ii) regulatory liaison and (iii) leading our audits.
• Build trust with our regulator: manage and coordinate meaningful reporting internally and externally, respond to information requests, and proactively communicate product changes and notifiable events. 
• Help Develop systems / processes to track and monitor our regulatory risk, compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Work with teams within Wise to educate them about Philippines regulatory requirements, and empower teams to build risk based processes which are clearly documented. 
• Scrutinise and test compliance programs, including quality assurance, analyse findings and work with Operational teams to develop our risk based approach, provide constructive feedback and be responsible for resolutions, including addressing any audit findings.
• Adapt your focus on different compliance issues depending on growth plans and compliance needs.
• Work with global Product and Operational teams and travel to our operational offices.

Responsibilities

• Understand applicable Acts, Regulations, Notices, Circulars, and Guidelines to address client’s queries
• Tracking of work items and monthly calls
• Drafting of compliance checklists and reports
• Drafting of meeting minutes
• Maintenance of compliance registers
• Drafting of onboarding pack
• Drafting and review of compliance documents
• Assist with routine and ad-hoc administrative tasks

• Highlight any urgent quality training needs to the Team Leaders whilst supporting them in conducting an effective training needs analysis of all agents.
• Liaise with Team Leader in planning and delivery of all agreed training and coaching identified on individual PDP’s.
• Design and Implement Smart Action plan when necessary
• Work with the global quality coordinator as well as the global quality circle team
• Effectively handles complaints and submits DRSMs on time
• Provides coaching to agents regarding ticket handling

• Working on client onboarding and reviewing and updating all necessary documentation as required.
• Reviewing and monitoring all KYC and CDD for new client onboarding files.
• Ongoing review of KYC and CDD files for existing clients.
• Coordinating frequent AML training and keeping abreast of all changes and updates to legislations.
• Ongoing review and revision of relevant policies and procedures.
• Conducting frequent risk analysis and providing detailed reports to senior management.

Prior experience working in an AML/Compliance focused role.

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline.

Prior experience having been involved in a regulatory inspection.

A compliance focused qualification or the desire to undertake further studies. (ACAMS or ICA)

About the Role 

As a Compliance Officer at BSA Solutions, your main responsibility is to ensure that our organization operates within the boundaries of applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will play a critical role in identifying areas of non-compliance, conducting risk assessments, and implementing effective strategies to mitigate risks. You will report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the CEO and the CFO. 

Responsibilities: 

Monitor and Maintain Compliance: 

Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance. 

Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and processes. 

Regularly review company policies and procedures to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend necessary changes. 

Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues. 

Work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 

Regulatory Reporting and Documentation: 

Prepare and submit regulatory reports, filings, and documentation accurately and on time. 

Ensure that all required licenses, permits, and certifications are obtained and renewed as necessary. 

Keep comprehensive records of compliance activities, including audit findings, corrective actions, and training records. 

Training and Education: 

Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees, promoting awareness and understanding of compliance requirements. 

Provide guidance and support to employees regarding compliance-related inquiries and issues. 

Stay updated on industry best practices and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders. 

Risk Assessment and Mitigation: 

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk management strategies and controls. 

Investigate and respond to compliance-related incidents, including conducting internal investigations as necessary. 

Compliance Monitoring and Reporting: 

Establish and maintain a robust compliance monitoring program to ensure ongoing adherence to applicable laws and regulations. 

Regularly report compliance metrics, trends, and issues to senior management. 

Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during compliance audits and inspections. 

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Finance, or a related field. 
• At least five (5) years' experience as a Compliance Officer, Internal Auditor, or in a similar role. 
• In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
• Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across different levels of the organization. 
• Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. 
• Professional certifications in Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP), and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are preferred but not compulsory.
