Egis Projects Philippines Inc (EPPI) provide services to private sector entities involved in the business of building, operating or managing roadways, railways, and other transportation infrastructure projects.

EPPI has been appointed to design, develop, support and maintain a tolling system based on free flow, nonstop operating mode. This toll system shall have components located on various points (tolling points) of the toll roads- Roadside Equipment (which is subcontracted), and 2 pieces of centralized equipment cloud-based (Operation Back Office and Commercial Back office), being developed by EPPI’s Software Development Center (SDC) team. These mainly consist of web-based software (Customer Portal, Account Management Systems, Customer Relationship Management system, Back-office portal), microservices back ends (API) and mobile apps, managing more than 3 million end user accounts.

Duties and responsibilities

• Review and analysis of requirements and specifications
• Translate requirements into test scenarios and detailed test cases
• Preparation of test data and execution of manual test cases, documenting test results and bug creation
• Conduct peer reviews of test data and test cases
• Responsible in validating successful migration of data from legacy system to new system
• Creation, maintenance and execution of regression tests cases
• Will work closely with the development team and effectively communicate across teams to help resolve issues

Work Arrangement: Fully remote, overlapping EST working hours.
Job Type: Full-time, Independent Contractor.
Salary Range: Up to $2500 based on experience.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with core hours between 9 AM – 6 PM EST.
Locations: Remote, open to candidates in LATAM and Philippines.

Role Overview

As a QA Automation Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in driving customer success by delivering robust, automated test solutions using TypeScript and Playwright. Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Test Automation
• Onboard new customers and maintain existing test automation with AI-powered tools.
• Analyze customer needs to prioritize test coverage and accuracy.
• Configure CI/CD integrations (e.g., GitHub Actions, Docker) for test execution.
2. Test Reliability and Maintenance
• Triage test failures to meet SLAs (<1 business day), identifying and resolving issues effectively.

3. Tool and Process Improvement
• Collaborate with the engineering team to enhance test generation and maintenance tools.
• Document and refine customer workflows for scalable support and efficiency.
4. Knowledge Sharing and Documentation

• Contribute to onboarding materials to ensure team alignment and growth.

Must-Have

• +2 years in software engineering or automation testing roles.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Playwright, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker.

• Need strong programming background using either Java or Javascript/Typescript.
• With wide exposure to designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts using standard automation tools and frameworks, preferably Playwright and Selenium
• Playwright: A minimum of 2 years of experience in Playwright is required (manual testing experience is acceptable for the rest)
• Selenium: At least 4 years of experience is necessary if the candidate does not have Playwright experience
• Expert with Software QA standards like creating test scenarios in BDD, triaging issues and bugs and how to properly raise them, organize and document important processes and workflows for the project and the team, and able to plan and execute different testing cycles like functional, end-to-end, integration, regression.
• CI/CD: A minimum of 2 years of experience is required. Has a good understanding of CICD implementation with respect to test automation, i.e. how to build, execute, and analyze automation server jobs and pipelines. Having experience setting up jobs and pipelines for the CICD implementation is a plus.
• API Testing: At least 2 years of experience is required. Needs to have background in executing and automating API tests, and helps with the setup of configurations (authentication of API calls, build requests, POC on exposed APIs that can be used) before testing.
• Needs significant exposure to agile software development, how to manage tasks within sprints and knows what to expect in dealing with the agile mindset.

Salary: P130,000 to P160,000 (Monthly Package)

Skills Required:

• Experience:
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a QA Engineer.

• Technical Skills:
• Proven experience as a QA Engineer, QA Tester, or similar role.

• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.

• Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

• 3+ years professional (post-academic) experience with automated testing tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Playwright, Puppeteer, etc).

• Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).

• Experience with GitHub CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation.

What will you do?

• Test Planning and Execution:
• Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

• Perform manual and automated testing on our platform, APIs, and data pipelines.

• Liaison Duties:
• Serve as a bridge between internal employees and the engineering team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Verifies using applicable equipment/device, analyzes and provide disposition to issues encountered pertaining to process and procedures to ensure quality and reliability of product at Test.
• Involve in holding, assessment and disposition of non-conforming products/materials.
• Helps to provide data, gather facts that will help other support group to determine root cause that will help resolved problems encountered in line.
• Initiates, coordinates and implements both preventive and corrective actions that will correct and prevent line problem that comes from machine, process or/and human errors.
• Collaborates with the other Departments for the completion of Quality Reports. Coordinates and meet Production, Test Engineering and other support group on product quality improvement via team improvement/module group activities.
• Generates, formulates and reviews quality documents such as inspection specification, procedures, work instructions, Engineering Request Form (ERF), MRB forms and Special instructions.
• Verifies, issuances, monitors, reviews and tracks the completion of the following the Non-Conforming products. (Test CAR, MRB, 8D and MVI FA as applicable).
• Prepares periodic report such as: Quality Gate Reject, Subcon Score Card, MRB hold lots, CAR/8D, CAT’s, Trends and other applicable quality monitoring report
• Communicates issues, concerns and information to appropriate team either internal or external.
• Conducts training or refresher on defect criteria to AMPI operators and inspectors regarding inspection (visual/electrical) requirement as part of their certification to ensure high quality inspection. This includes Subcontractors if applicable.
• Coordinate with the Training System Core Group (TSCG) on any changes that needs to be implemented to ensure effectiveness of the certification process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• College graduate preferably Engineering.
• At least 2 years of QA Engineering  and/or related industry
