About the Role:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Project Planner/Scheduler to manage project timelines, schedules, and resource allocation. The role will focus on creating and maintaining project schedules, ensuring that milestones are met on time and within scope. You will work closely with project managers, teams, and stakeholders to track project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule Development and Management
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, including setting project milestones and deadlines.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure that project schedules are accurate, realistic, and aligned with project goals.
- Monitor project progress, adjusting schedules as needed to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Identify any potential scheduling conflicts or resource constraints and proactively recommend adjustments.
Resource Allocation and Coordination
- Work with project teams to allocate resources efficiently, ensuring the right people and tools are available when needed.
- Monitor and manage resource utilization across multiple projects to ensure optimal use of resources.
- Track resource availability and adjust plans accordingly to prevent delays or resource shortages.
Progress Tracking and Reporting
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and critical paths to ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Prepare and provide regular status reports to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting any delays or issues.
- Use scheduling software to generate progress reports and timelines for project reviews and decision-making.
Risk and Issue Management
- Identify potential scheduling risks, such as delays or bottlenecks, and work with the project team to mitigate these risks.
- Provide input on corrective actions for projects that are falling behind schedule or facing delays.
- Ensure that risks and issues are documented and escalated to project managers when necessary.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management
- Communicate regularly with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on schedules and deliverables.
- Assist in coordinating with external vendors or contractors to meet scheduling requirements and deadlines.
- Ensure that any changes to project scope or schedule are documented and communicated to all relevant parties.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure that scheduling practices and project timelines comply with internal processes, standards, and regulations.
- Support project managers in ensuring the overall quality of the project by keeping the schedule on track and minimizing delays.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in project scheduling, planning, or coordination.
- Experience with project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools).
- Previous experience working on large-scale or complex projects is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of project scheduling principles and techniques.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, or other scheduling software).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
- Primavera P6 or MS Project certification.
