In this role, you will work closely with finance teams across the organization, leveraging your expertise in tax within the APAC region. Reporting to the Group Head of Tax and Treasury in Bangalore, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our tax projects. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing tax function and a proven track record in the APAC market

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure tax compliance and timely filing of returns  - handle tax compliance processes for corporate income tax, indirect tax (eg GST, VAT, SST or equivalent), WHT, Stamp Duty. This requires working with the tax agents and the controllers to ensure that all returns are filed and payments are made within the prescribed timelines. 

• Review tax computations and provide tax advisory and support to business groups

• Collaborate with external professionals and local tax authorities to manage tax-related matters and address tax queries

• Tax Controversy – assist with tax enquiries/ tax audits for the key jurisdictions under coverage.

• Assist with tax provisioning 

• Transfer Pricing - assist with transfer pricing compliance obligations (where required).

• Analyze and interpret the impact of changes to laws and regulations on tax liabilities and tax structuring

Carousell is looking for an Accounting Associate Manager part of its corporate controllership team responsible for consolidation and intercompany transactions for the group.

About the Role

As an Accounting Associate Manager, you will be collaborating with the finance teams across the group. The successful candidate will bring to the team a solid background in handling consolidation, financial reporting and intercompany processes of the group. This is an independent contributor role, reporting to the Accounting Senior Manager. This role will be on contract basis for a period of 6-8 months 

Responsibilities: 

1. Manage group monthly consolidation process

2. Monthly recording of intercompany transactions for the group including raising intercompany invoices.

3. Maintain a month close calendar with timelines, Co-ordinate with local controllers on the close, and ensure stipulated deadlines are met.

4. Assists in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives.

5. Review month balance sheet accounts and documentation of significant variances.

6. Assist with annual external audits. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.

7. Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.

1. Develop a comprehensive rolling cash flow forecasting system in collaboration with cross functional teams

2. Partner with Strategic Finance team to foster strong relationships with external banking partners

3. Provide operational support for all activities within the group treasury function - manage group bank accounts, liaise with bankers and ensure regulatory compliance

4. Device and implement corporate treasury policies for the group, SOPs and ensure adherence.

The CRM team at Carousell tackles business objectives that surround the Carousell user by focusing on engagement, retention and reactivation. We carry out our mission first by developing a solid understanding of the different experience flows a user can undertake on the platform, before designing timely and relevant touchpoints on CRM channels (e.g. Push, Email) to engage accordingly. We develop different campaigns for users at different stages of the lifecycle (e.g. New user, lapsed user), with a focus on delivering a consistent and scalable 1:1 user experience.

We are looking for a CRM Specialist to join our team and support across strategy and planning, project management of CRM campaigns and more. 

This role will report into the CRM Manager.

Areas of Responsibility

Strategy and planning

• Actively support the overall CRM strategy, plans and rollout schedule of initiatives and experiments

• Play the role of a strong CRM business partner to Category Marketing teams with expertise in user segmentation and messaging that align with marketing plans

• Engage cross-functional teams (e.g. Category Marketing, Product) in discussions related to your plans (e.g. validation of user problem hypotheses that a CRM experiment seeks to prove)

Project management: Rollout, experimentation and optimisation

• Drive rollout of initiatives against proper tracking and documentation

The Market Escalation and Trust Senior Associate plays a vital role in the organization. He/She is responsible for co-developing and implementing strategies to prevent and mitigate fraud in all Carousell Markets and will serve as in-market point of contact for the country they are situated in. In addition, the MX Content Senior Associate will report to the T&S Associate Manager and will work together with the MX team, primarily with the Core T&S team.

Day-to-day responsibilities 

• 30% of the week: Stay up to date with local regulations and applying it to Carousell based on the country of origin, updating our policy and processes based on escalations
• 60% of the week: Research fraud trends, issue (tech/non-tech) trends and to share findings with operations/tech to reduce incidents of fraud
• 10% of the week: team meetings, preparing for the meetings (share issue/fraud trends)

Responsibilities include:

• Be an expert on Carousell’s policies, community guidelines and listing rules
• Minimize and prevent potential loses in relation to our In-App payment feature and all other types of Fraud.
• Perform root cause analysis for identified issues impacting (but not limited to) Operations, Users, System efficiencies.
• Identify type of fraud, trends and create rules that support Fraud Prevention and Mitigation.
• Initiate and drive projects (with Internal and External teams) to improve Departmental and Team metrics.

Record to Report (RTR) officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and reporting of the organisation. Their responsibilities typically encompass a range of tasks covering all Carousell Entities.

You will:

• Support the RTR team in doing the monthly activities including but no limited to accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and lease accounting for all the Carousell entities.

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions specifically during finance month-end closing and related to RTR activities

• Prepare monthly account schedules and reconciliations

• Communicate financial information and updates to finance controllers across Company entities

• Address inquiries and provide clarification on financial matters related to RTR activities
