Turnitin is seeking a disciplined and self driven Sales Development Representative to generate and prospect sales opportunities. Your job will be to develop qualified leads into potential prospects. You will understand the Turnitin Integrity and Assessment product portfolio to assess the potential customers needs and position the right product that solves to their needs. You will progress the relationship until they are ready to talk to a sales account executive. This two step process makes this role a key partner to the account executives so that they can focus on closing deals, while you focus on finding new leads, getting past gatekeepers, and other prospecting tasks.

Part of your job will be to research ideal contact lists based on the Higher Education Ideal Customer Profile. Most of your time will be spent reaching out to potential customers through the early stages of the sales funnel.

Responsibilities: 

• Represent the Turnitin product portfolio, starting with a comprehensive understanding and leading to research potential higher education institutional customers to identify how our solutions could meet their needs.

• Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding new potential sales opportunities.

• Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales account executives for next steps.

• Identify best practices to refine the company’s lead generation activities.

• Utilise SalesForce, emails and follow up with phone calls  to generate new sales opportunities.

• Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/services.

• Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities.

• Proactively seek new business opportunities in the higher education market.

• Set up product demonstration meetings between (prospective) customers and sales account executives.

• Report to the sales manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results.

• Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

• 2+ years experience as a B2B sales development representative with a track record of achieving lead/sales quotas.

• 2+ years of sales development experience in a SaaS and/or Ed Tech environment preferred.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in initiating and nurturing relationships with potential customers using targeted outbound prospecting techniques.

• 2+ years proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM is ideal.

• Full proficiency in English (required).

• Flawless communication skills, both oral and written communication, and comfortable speaking in public.

In this role, you will oversee a regional APAC team responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities by developing and managing prospecting efforts. Turnitin is looking for a Sales Operations Analyst to be a partner with the larger commercial Revenue Operations team along with the GTM sales team to help enhance the efficiency and productivity of the sales team, to help facilitate our rapid team expansion and customer growth across the organization. 

As a Sales Operations Analyst you will support direct and indirect sales teams across the organization in analyzing system data to establish and implement process alignment and improvements to align sales strategy. The role will be critical in evaluating the general health of the sales process in order to help Turnitin run effectively and efficiently. You will collaborate with the broader Commercial  Operations team, Marketing, Finance and other stakeholders to ensure the best experience and most efficient processes to drive the sales process.

Our ideal candidate is a professional with knowledge of sales and customer service best practices. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management, collaboration and communication skills along with experience of working closely with customer facing sales teams. The person must have very strong organizational skills and an excellent eye for detail. They must also be flexible and willing to dive into every challenge. We expect you to perform well in a team environment and have exceptional people skills. Ultimately, you should be driven and passionate about ensuring the success of the sales team by delivering information.

Key Responsibilities and Outputs

• Based on data analysis, establishes and drives process improvement, adoption, and effectiveness at every level of the sales process, ensuring process compliance
• Support and optimize the use of Salesforce, including assisting with ongoing enhancements and testing
• Helps set and enforce best practices related to Salesforce data hygiene. 
• Works closely with Sales Enablement to create, maintain and deliver onboarding content
• Delivers onboarding of new hires
• Creates and maintains documentation of processes, standard operating procedures, and visuals for training purposes.
• Ensures that training content is up to date and accurate
• Gathers reporting and dashboard requirements to provide visibility to sales teams on pipeline and performance against targets
• Tracks and reports key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team, identifying areas for improvement and recommending strategic solutions to achieve sales goals
• Produces and maintains regular and ad-hoc Salesforce reporting and dashboards based on metrics that drive sales velocity for Sales, Marketing and Finance
• Partner with finance, marketing, and other departments to align sales operations with overall business objectives
• Drive the successful execution of project-based initiatives to enhance sales operations efficiency, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring milestones are met and objectives achieved within specified timelines
• Develops and executes change management strategies conducting training sessions and providing ongoing support to ensure the seamless integration of changes and adoption of new processes and tools into the daily operations of the GTM sales team

Essential

• A minimum of 3 years of solid experience in a sales support-oriented role, showing understanding of the intricacies of sales operations and support functions
• Exhibit in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience working with Salesforce, with a focus on utilizing this platform for optimal sales management and strategic decision-making
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies clearly
• Demonstrated strength in analytical thinking and organizational prowess, showcasing the ability to transform data into actionable insights presented in various formats, facilitating informed decision-making 
• Competence in time management and problem-solving, substantiating the ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver optimal solutions efficiently
• Experience with sales teams, SaaS businesses, and/or educational technology, accentuating a comprehensive understanding of diverse industry landscapes

Preferred

• Advanced Salesforce Administrator Certification
• Expertise in change management, driving successful transformations implementing strategic initiatives to enhance processes and seamlessly integrating new methodologies
• Experience with enablement systems such as Groove, Highspot
• Proven experience in working with Salesforce and in creating reports and dashboards

As an SDR at Turnitin, you will drive sales by identifying, engaging and qualifying leads in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong region. You will carry out market research, find the relevant contacts and prospect to them through targeted campaigns. You will qualify all inbound leads from our website and events. You will also support the Sales Team with their outbound prospecting campaigns. You will be asked to think creatively about finding potential leads, as well as leverage traditional lead generation techniques in order to build the top of the sales funnel and transition leads to the Sales team. The SDR will prospect into higher education  institutions where Turnitin’s products and services can be of benefit. This role is important for increasing the effectiveness and success of the Sales team.

Responsibilities:

• Follow up on all assigned incoming leads for qualification and nurturing
• Create campaigns and actively prospect into territories as directed to generate new leads
• Become well-versed in the company’s products and services as well as the latest offerings, upcoming trainings and events, and other customer-facing opportunities and effectively communicate Turnitin’s products and services to prospective customers and final decision makers
• Manage detailed prospect and customer account lists; log/track progress of leads using both marketing and sales automation tools (Groove/Salesforce.com)
• Schedule appointments and generate revenue opportunities by contacting current or prospective customers
• Analyze needs and interests of potential customers to determine the appropriate products and present qualified leads to outside sales representatives
• Execute call plans using a variety of communication channels including social media, email and phone
• Manage/report success on real measures of engagement with clients and prospects

• Develop personally and professionally through technical, competitive and sales skills knowledge
• Achieve or exceed monthly quotas of qualified leads

Required Skills:

• 1+ year sales, or lead generation and development experience
• Education technology experience preferred
• Proficient in English language
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and have unstructured conversations without a script
• Highly motivated, self-starter who can manage a variety of contacts systematically, qualifying them while building a greater understanding of the customer
• Keen ability to maneuver past gatekeepers and move from influencers to decision makers

• Ability to occasionally travel outside of geographical territory for purposes of attending conferences, training sessions and/or area meetings
• Experience using Salesforce CRMs
