Job Description

Turnitin is seeking a strategic and results-driven Sales Development Manager to lead, mentor, and drive a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). In this role, you will oversee a regional APAC team responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities by developing and managing prospecting efforts. You will ensure the team effectively understands the Turnitin Integrity and Assessment product portfolios and how to assess potential customer needs to position the right solutions.

As the Sales Development Manager, your key focus will be guiding your team through the process of lead generation and qualification. You will empower SDRs to partner closely with Account Executives by ensuring they are sourcing quality leads, getting past gatekeepers, and progressing relationships until prospects are ready to engage with sales.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead & Mentor: Oversee the day-to-day performance of a team of SDRs, providing coaching, training, and support to ensure they meet their prospecting and lead-generation goals.
Performance Management & Coaching: Monitor and evaluate team members' performance through regular 1:1s, providing constructive feedback and support.
Strategy Execution: Develop and implement prospecting strategies to ensure alignment with the Turnitin sales and marketing teams, focusing on Higher Education and Secondary Education Ideal Customer Profiles.
Performance Tracking: Regularly track, report, and analyze team performance against KPIs, including lead volume, lead quality, and conversion rates.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in sales processes, tools, and workflows to increase team efficiency.
Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment and optimization of the sales funnel.
Goal Setting: Establish clear goals to ensure accountability of team members
Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hiring efforts, onboard new team members, and ensure a smooth transition into the team.
Motivation & Culture: Foster a positive, results-oriented team culture while promoting professional development.

Qualifications

Requirements:

5+ experience in sales and 3+ years experience in sales leadership
Previous sales leadership experience required
Strong experience in outbound sales prospecting role required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
Action-oriented & ownership mindset
Passion for Learning
Excellent problem solving and time management skills
Self-starter and motivated passionate personality that thrives in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to form effective working relationships with both internal and external partners
3+ years proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM is required
Flawless communication skills, both oral and written communication, and comfortable speaking in public
Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications while keeping track of dead-end leads.
Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.

Preferred:

Preferred experience working across APAC region selling into different countries and navigation cultural norms
2+ years working in a SaaS or Education industry company a plus

Job Description

Turnitin is seeking a disciplined and self driven Sales Development Representative to generate and prospect sales opportunities. Your job will be to develop qualified leads into potential prospects. You will understand the Turnitin Integrity and Assessment product portfolio to assess the potential customers needs and position the right product that solves to their needs. You will progress the relationship until they are ready to talk to a sales account executive. This two step process makes this role a key partner to the account executives so that they can focus on closing deals, while you focus on finding new leads, getting past gatekeepers, and other prospecting tasks.

Part of your job will be to research ideal contact lists based on the Higher Education Ideal Customer Profile. Most of your time will be spent reaching out to potential customers through the early stages of the sales funnel.

Responsibilities:

Represent the Turnitin product portfolio, starting with a comprehensive understanding and leading to research potential higher education institutional customers to identify how our solutions could meet their needs.
Generate leads and build relationships by nurturing warm prospects and finding new potential sales opportunities.
Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects and engage sales account executives for next steps.
Identify best practices to refine the company’s lead generation activities.
Utilise SalesForce, emails and follow up with phone calls to generate new sales opportunities.
Identify prospect's needs and suggest appropriate products/services.
Build long-term trusting relationships with prospects to qualify leads as sales opportunities.
Proactively seek new business opportunities in the higher education market.
Set up product demonstration meetings between (prospective) customers and sales account executives.
Report to the sales manager with weekly, monthly, and quarterly results.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
2+ years experience as a B2B sales development representative with a track record of achieving lead/sales quotas.
2+ years of sales development experience in a SaaS and/or Ed Tech environment preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in initiating and nurturing relationships with potential customers using targeted outbound prospecting techniques.
2+ years proficiency with SalesForce or other CRM is ideal.
Full proficiency in English (required).
Flawless communication skills, both oral and written communication, and comfortable speaking in public.
Demonstrated ability to work solo as well as being a productive team member, sending email and doing phone calls every day.
Have a strong work ethic and are eager to learn and make new connections with prospects.
Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications while keeping track of dead-end leads.
Proven creative problem-solving approach and strong analytical skills.

Job Description

As an SDR at Turnitin, you will drive sales by identifying, engaging and qualifying leads in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong region. You will carry out market research, find the relevant contacts and prospect to them through targeted campaigns. You will qualify all inbound leads from our website and events. You will also support the Sales Team with their outbound prospecting campaigns. You will be asked to think creatively about finding potential leads, as well as leverage traditional lead generation techniques in order to build the top of the sales funnel and transition leads to the Sales team. The SDR will prospect into higher education institutions where Turnitin’s products and services can be of benefit. This role is important for increasing the effectiveness and success of the Sales team.

Responsibilities:

Follow up on all assigned incoming leads for qualification and nurturing
Create campaigns and actively prospect into territories as directed to generate new leads
Become well-versed in the company’s products and services as well as the latest offerings, upcoming trainings and events, and other customer-facing opportunities and effectively communicate Turnitin’s products and services to prospective customers and final decision makers
Manage detailed prospect and customer account lists; log/track progress of leads using both marketing and sales automation tools (Groove/Salesforce.com)
Schedule appointments and generate revenue opportunities by contacting current or prospective customers
Analyze needs and interests of potential customers to determine the appropriate products and present qualified leads to outside sales representatives
Execute call plans using a variety of communication channels including social media, email and phone
Manage/report success on real measures of engagement with clients and prospects
Project Turnitin’s core values to customers and the community
Develop personally and professionally through technical, competitive and sales skills knowledge
Achieve or exceed monthly quotas of qualified leads

Qualifications

Required Skills:

1+ year sales, or lead generation and development experience
Education technology experience preferred
Proficient in English language
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and have unstructured conversations without a script
Highly motivated, self-starter who can manage a variety of contacts systematically, qualifying them while building a greater understanding of the customer
Keen ability to maneuver past gatekeepers and move from influencers to decision makers

Ability to occasionally travel outside of geographical territory for purposes of attending conferences, training sessions and/or area meetings
Experience using Salesforce CRMs
Australian Timezone (est. 7am - 4pm)

What You Will Do

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. (Code must be used in core version of applications available for sale commercially.)
Interacts with product managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.

What You Will Bring

Must have skills/tools/experience: IVR Development (Nuance IVR and/or Concentrix Interaction Composer)
Nice to have skills/tools/experience: Any programming language used for IVR Development and experience in Contact Center Technologies such as Nuance IVR, NLU, Nuance MIX, chatbot
At least 5 years of relevant work experience
Mostly virtual work setup but must be willing to work onsite if needed. Office location is at Ecoplaza Building, Don Chino Roces Ave, Magallanes, Makati
College Undergraduates and Non-Bachelor's Degree Holders with relevant work experience are welcome to apply
Strong knowledge of Conversational AI development
Experience in the design/development of IVR applications.
Hands-on development experience on Conversational AI tools such as Nuance mix.
Hands-on experience in conversational UI / call flow design.
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills and familiarity in monitoring and instrumentation tools.
Experience in Cassandra\SQL and knowledge of DB concepts, integration technologies with other applications
Experience creating web services
Should be able to understand business requirements and translate to architecture/software development.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities
