Avid has a product range from low-end host based to high-end infrastructure solutions, including dedicated mixing surfaces, video editing, music production, postproduction, and broadcast news.

Working in association with our Technical Marketing and worldwide Support and Engineering/Testing Team, Resellers as well as Avid’s (international) Support, the individual will be responsible for ensuring consistency of support standards throughout the territory to both Post and Video Production customer bases.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Provides expert technical support on products throughout the customers Avid workflow, including editing, storage, asset management, cloud-based solutions, and news production
• Work within a global support team covering 24x7x365 operations
• Able to write effective handoff from shift-to-shift for support issues
• Provides proactive patch/upgrade planning including version compatibility
• Creates and manages support cases in Avid’s case management system as appropriate
• Reproduces and logs bugs as required
• Engages additional specialized Avid resources when needed
• Follows up on customer issues with appropriate Avid internal groups
• Liaises with appropriate Avid management on a periodic basis to ensure visibility
• Adheres to Avid’s relevant contractual SLAs (Service Level Agreements)

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Support Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, flexible work environment. In this role, you will work closely with Software Developers, App Support Engineers and Service Delivery Managers to ensure the prompt resolution of escalated issues. The role will be responsible for providing third level support, including configuration and some code fixes and facilitating knowledge transfer to our Application Support team.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and troubleshoot issues on Cubic’s software platform.
• Collaborate with software developers and App Support Engineers to identify, evaluate, and resolve application and system issues.
• Take ownership of customer issues escalated by the App Support team and see problems through to resolution.
• Support consistent uptime of the platform by reacting to alarms, monitoring performance and escalating issues to service owners as required.
• Document customer interactions and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of support documentation, knowledge base articles, and best practices.
• Perform root cause assessment and debug all issues and incidents assigned to Level 3.
• Participate in product testing and quality assurance activities.
• Stay up to date with product knowledge and latest industry trends
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall product and customer experience.
• Assist Support Engineering Manager with development, documentation and rollout of new operational processes and enhancement and enforcement of existing operational processes.
• Ensure any Production discovered issues result in improvements to the relevant Monitoring and Testing strategies and activities of Cubic teams.
• Assist in PI planning and team refinements to ensure potential issues are discovered prior to production releases.
• Represent Support concerns where needed in technical planning.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field

The Business Process Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting value stream and business process-based projects and initiatives across 1FG. He/ she provides expertise and technical assistance for projects involving the end-to-end business process of the different business divisions of 1FG. He/ She provides project leadership and/or support to 1FG (Corporate), Business Units/ Divisions, and Plants/Mills/ Operating Units for initiatives involving business process mapping, analysis, development, training, assessment and improvement. He/ she is also the Food Group’s subject matter expert for documentation, document management and process-based assessments, and serves as one of the Document Controllers of 1FG-level documents.

• Perform business process mapping using globally-recognized standards and frameworks (e.g American Productivity and Quality Center) to determine value streams and business processes that are applicable to the initiative/ project. This includes determination of interfaced processes across value streams.
• Determine the required process documentations at the 1FG (Corporate), Business Unit/ Division, Country, and Mill/ Site/ Operating Unit levels by facilitating discussions with Value Stream Leads and Business Process SMEs. 
• Perform process heat mapping to determine currently documented and implemented processes versus required business processes
• Create the business process development plan, detailing the business processes to be documented, the type of document to be created (e.g. policy, guideline, procedure, work instruction), the assigned author/ document writer, and the target completion of documentation.
• Enable Business Process SMEs and Value Stream Leads to determine the minimum content that will be required for Business Unit/ Division, Country, and/ or Mill/ SIte/ Operating Unit-level documents.
• Create and/ or improve business process documents, considering the operations involved, applicable requirements and standards,process interfaces, actual and potential pain points, quality, efficiency, effectiveness of controls (internal controls and process controls), standardization, risks, productivity, customer satisfaction, and intended implementers/ process owners (especially for business processes to be deployed across different countries and the entire 1FG)
• Enable the review, approval, and publishing  of the documents he/ she has created. 
• Ensure compliance to established documentation and document management processes in the execution of document development activities (whether by him/ her or by other document writers involved).
• Collaborate with and enable SMEs and Value Stream Leads to carry out cascades or trainings regarding the approved business process documents. 
• Perform or enable execution of process implementation assessments to determine compliance to established business processes. This covers activities from planning to actual assessment, and communication of assessment results.
• Provide recommendations and support for the improvement of business processes.
• Design, prepare materials for, and deliver trainings on value stream understanding, business processes development,, documentation, document management, and process-based assessments (e.g. PECA). Provide guidance on these as necessary or as requested.
• Design, drive implementation and continually improve 1FG’s Document Management Program.
• Perform document control tasks for 1FG-level and for PH Country-level documents as defined in the Document Management Program, such as checking compliance to template, provision of document code, uploading and maintenance of documents to the designated repository, notifying intended readers (1FG or PH), handling of superseded, obsolete and external documents. 
• Provide training and/or provide guidance on Value Stream Processes, Business Process Mapping, Heat Mapping, Business Process Development, Documentation, and Document Management.
• Manage assigned initiatives from planning to monitoring and routine reporting to the Business Process Team and the stakeholders. This includes addressing risks of delay and challenges, and the resolution of issues encountered.

The Network Operation Centre (NOC) have three main roles:

1. to ensure maximum possible service availability and performance

2. to provision customer network services on core equipment

3. to provide support services for Engineering and other technical teams

These result in a highly diverse range of duties for the NOC - our engineers are required to ensure they are fulfilled in a timely, co-operative and professional manner.

We interact frequently with technical support, service provisioning and sales teams so it's important that we are clear and concise in our communications.

We also work very closely with the Engineering team and as such need to develop a good all-round understanding of systems and networks.

Diligence and attention to detail are also key skills along with an ability to multi-task and prioritize work appropriately.

We don't expect you to have all the required knowledge when you join us as many of these skills can be picked up through experience in the job, but those who do need to learn new skills must be prepared to spend time doing suitable research to ensure their grounding is thorough and properly understood.

As your knowledge and confidence develop you may be asked to join our call-out rotation providing 24x7 support on our core network and services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the Monitoring Systems
• Full fault troubleshooting, problem isolation, and corrective action implementation or escalation to network engineering for assistance
• Liaising, and own discussions with, 3rd party suppliers to troubleshoot problems, perform upgrades, resolve service impacts, manage network changes, and escalate as required
• Provisioning and configuring core network devices and tools,  such as IP assignment, core network configuration, DNS setup, monitoring software for core equipment and software, NNI ports and services, implementing MOPs for controlled core and edge network changes, etc.
• Network equipment build, installation, and configurations
• Performing and maintain hardware, serial numbers, security, and configuration audits
• Writing custom monitoring plugins and configuring bespoke graphing.
• Maintenance of WIKI and technical documentation (for NOC) of processes and procedures used throughout normal operations
• Development of knowledge and skills in network and system administration
• Tier 3 escalation point for all core network datacenter services and infrastructure, access network, and AireSpring services
• Participate in a 24x7 call-out rotation if required
