Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead the Safety team in OHS compliance (regulatory and internal programs) through ongoing audits and inspections focusing on continual improvement
• Promote health, safety, and environmental awareness in order to prevent injuries and/or damages
• Ensure all OHSC members under Safety Section duly participate in performance management and conduct safety meetings
• Lead and coach the team of safety professionals to deliver an effective and interactive service to the operation and provide leadership in maintaining/implementing ISO certification
• Conduct internal audits on previous incident investigations to assess the effectiveness of corrective actions and facilitate the review of incident investigations using ICAM methodology

Seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor – Paste Plant to lead and optimize paste plant production requirements with utilization and throughput being obtained and paste quality targets met by use of sound operating practices, standard operating procedures, and personnel working in a safe and efficient manner. The role will report to the Superintendent – Paste Plant.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensure that operators are all aware of all site safety requirements, company policies and follow all approved procedures in undertaking their task
• Conduct regular inspections of the work area to maintain the plant in a condition, and complete at least one task observation every shift
• Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency targets are met
• Proper coordination or communication to Underground personnel prior to start and stop any paste filling activities to avoid any preventable incidents
• Regular inspections of both Borehole pipelines, UG pipeline and Paste Mixer discharge line to avoid any untoward pipe blockage and leakage
• Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Monitor and control Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition S.C.A.D.A system ensuring all shift logs are completed accurately
• Schedule and coordinate production activities
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure timely maintenance
• Collaborate with the Paste Plant Superintendent, metallurgists, electricians and mechanical to achieve the optimum plant performance
• Ensure that the paste plant is operating according to metallurgical and geological guidelines or given set of operating parameters
• Minimize operational downtime by proper execution of shutdown plans and take immediate action to correct at risk conditions affecting plant performance
• Mentoring of new operators and responsible for coordination of the operators training and development
• Cross training of the operators on different areas of the operation for them to gain knowledge and experiences and to keep them updated on any changes at the plant
