Key responsibilities

The position is responsible in managing the overall credit and receivable collection functions of the hotel in the most efficient manner in order to minimize the non-payment of accounts and potential bad debts.  

Primary Responsibilities  

CREDIT APPLICATIONS 

• Process credit applications within 10 working days, ensuring that clients are notified promptly and professionally. The credit worthiness of all applicants is formally checked and approval must be received from the Director of Finance or it’s designate. 

• Review the credit worthiness of all existing non-Accor approved clients on a yearly basis. 

CITY LEDGER 

• Ensure all invoices / statements are issued on a timely basis. 

• Monitor the prompt follow-up of all overdue accounts and minimize the recovery delay. 

• Implement effective inquiry response procedure for guests and management. 

• Ensure all travel agent commissions are timely processed and paid. 

• Report on monthly accounts receivable ageing analysis and detailed accounts’ ledgers. 

• Conduct credit meetings at least once a month. 

• Attend Credit Managers meetings to keep up to date knowledge of credit risks. 

• Appropriately manage all delinquent accounts, liaising with debt collectors where needed. 

• Review and recommend accounts to be written off, providing appropriate documentation. 

GUEST LEDGER and LIAISON with FRONT OFFICE  

• Liaise between the Accounting Department and the Front Office 

• Ensure PX and PM accounts are checked on daily basis and transferred to city ledger within 48hrs from the departure date. 

• Review the Advance Deposit ledger to ensure all the balances are either current or for future date. 

• Inform the Front Office Manager of any deviations from policy by Assistant Managers, or Front Office Cashiers that may come to his/ her attention. 

• Ensure guest refunds are processed in a timely manner as per the hotel policy; with all supporting paperwork and required authorizations. 

GENERAL  

• Supervise daily operations of credit and accounts receivable. 

• Establish and maintain local credit policies and procedures regarding billing, collection, credit cards, inquiries, cheque cashing, etc.

There will inevitably be peaks and troughs in the workload over the course of the year.  Maintain good, long-term relationships with traders, commercial credit, trade finance, KYC, and global underwriting team to ensure credit advice provided was the best and will turn to a positive outcome.  Willingness to learn or currently have the ability to navigate through various end-use trading systems   Demonstrate a firm grasp of the key commercial considerations, as well as an ability to weigh up and decide on the risks of each activity.  The ability to know when to escalate is essential.  Keep connected with the other teams within Credit, KYC, and Trade Finance in all core locations, to ensure the team understands emerging challenges the location-based teams are facing and can re-prioritize effort as required.  Work effectively with other parts of finance Give enthusiastic and vocal support to the Global Trading Credit organisational changes, the benefits of which will in many cases be felt in the longer term, while continuing to meet the ongoing needs to the global Trading and Supply businesses in the immediate term  Experiences & Qualifications Ideally, would have relevant finance experience with specific focus in Credit or prior work experience in the corporate sector, especially within a Trading or Credit team.  The ability to work under pressure, working to tight deadlines, and juggling several different items.  Strong commercial understanding, especially the ability to balance speed, cost-benefit, and long-term relationship management.  Clear attention to detail and passion for continued learning  The ability to communicate complicated ideas in a clear and uncomplicated fashion.  Remain open to different perspectives (i.e. from other businesses & locations) and be able to switch priorities at short notice.  Demonstrate ability to coach junior team members and take ownership and deliver on specific projects.  Experience in working in a global organisation and in a virtual working environment  Shift Schedule: 9 PM - 6 AM (+1hr flexibility, following DST) For further information, and to apply, please visit our website via the “Apply” button below.

What you will be doing

Elicit, analyze, communicate and validate business/user requirements for processes, policies and information systems. • Verifies through testing that changes made by programmers to one part of the application do not impact other parts.

• Reports and reviews testing results.

• Trains internal employees or external clients on changes, new systems or new procedures. Conducts one-on-one or classroom training depending upon the size or desire of the audience.

• May mentor, guide, advise and/or check the work of less experienced business systems analysts.

• Considers business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

• Other related duties assigned as needed.

What you bring

• Good and extensive experience in BA responsibilities (business design and documentation).

• Background in Credit Cards Systems is preferred

• Background in any banking Systems is a plus

• Knowledge of the business goals, objectives and business operations for the appropriate organization

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors

• Willingly shares relevant knowledge and expertise to other resources

• Good analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal, team, customer service, negotiation, conflict management and time management skills

• Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas
