Provides objective analysis and sound judgement with application of principles and techniques to evaluate and report project performance from concept study to construction & startup including practical assessment of schedule completion and expected final cost. Competencies include setup of work breakdown structure, establishing levels of control and detail, planning and scheduling, cost analysis and forecasting, progress measurement, earned value performance, risk analysis and change control.
Responsible for managing, controlling, forecasting and reporting cost and schedule performance for projects throughout the organization. Services include setting up and managing project controls systems (including setup of work breakdown structure), capturing to-date progress and expenditure data, analyzing to-date performance data, forecasting at-completion performance data (EAC costs, hours), analyzing project risks (contingency management), managing change and incorporating scope variations into schedule and cost deliverables, and preparing associated reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
ā¢ Works with the company financial and cornerstone systems and processes.
ā¢ Applies financial terminology, measures, financial data analysis concepts and principles in assignments.
ā¢ Recognizes processes/project actions that may lead to project financial impact.
ā¢ Develops and maintains WBS for small projects.
ā¢ Assists in the use of drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data.
ā¢ Begins basic analysis of cost and schedule variances.
ā¢ Develops knowledge of accounting principles.
ā¢ Assists in assembling data for trending and forecasting.
ā¢ Understands progress/performance data and associated concepts and principles. Participates in the collection of progress data and review of performance trends.
ā¢ Familiar with earned value, scope control and change management concepts, principles and methodologies.
ā¢ Collects data and produces an initial analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations.
ā¢ Collects and analyzes data for tracking actual cost to funding limitations.
ā¢ Provides support to tracking purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures.
ā¢ Familiar with the concepts and principles of project revenue and cost.
ā¢ Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles.
ā¢ Introduced to performance management and cost/schedule integration concepts and principles.
ā¢ Develops knowledge of scope control and change management.
ā¢ Supports project reporting process as required.
ā¢ May participate in project cost review meetings.
Minimum Requirements
-Bachelorās degree in engineering, construction management, accounting, finance or other associated degree.
-Relevant work in lieu of degree considered
-2-4 yearsā experience
