Shift Assignment: Night Shift

Work closely with the E&S Casualty underwriting and actuary teams to intake, organize and analyze submission data to create the most optimal rates for the business unit. • Perform simple to complicated payroll activities in compliance with established procedures, strategies, and methodologies.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 
- Bachelor’s Degree or at least 3 years of relevant work experience to Payroll
- Must have experience in processing SEA region payroll, exposure to end-to-end payroll processing is preferred
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools  
- Basic knowledge and understanding of HR processes and procedures 
- Must have experience in a high-volume/high-headcount payroll processing
- Experience in using Empower/ Easy Pay, ADP, Globalview, Celegro and Workday or other Payroll Systems

• Process and record fixed asset transfer, impairment, and retirement.
• Prepare journal entries and fixed asset quarterly reporting and listing.
• Book labor and Project Pool Capital Project (CIP) entry.
• Review current details of capital project.
• Escalate issues and concerns to the Team Lead for timely resolution.
• Maintain the SOP/DTP of current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required.
• Perform simple but varied tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, and procedures.
• Assess identified issues and collate documentation to assist in investigating and in resolving common and recurring issues.

This role is primarily responsible for completing cash management tasks, maintaining reconciliations, and preparing and reviewing account analysis, financial reports and journal entries, in compliance with US GAAP

• Research and classify cash transactions.
• Support key month-end close processes.
• Perform, analyze, and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and general ledger journal entries.
• Develop and prepare various periodic and adhoc financial reports to be shared and presented to different stakeholders.
• Perform a wide range of reconciliations between accounting systems.
• Conduct extensive research and documentation of technical accounting matters.
• Escalate issues and recommend resolutions to the Team Lead for timely. May support junior members of the team in addressing routine issues within the assigned processes.
• Maintain the SOP/DTP of current processes and incorporate documentation updates as required.
• Perform moderately complex tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, and procedures.
• Propose alternatives in identified issues and assist in investigating and in resolving common and unusual issues.
• Contribute and implement various and simultaneous process improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve customer experience, and increase productivity.
• Participate in audit-related activities.
• Contribute specialized expertise to different assigned projects and may provide key updates to Team Lead and Manager.

What are we looking for? 

Skills Required:  

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study. 
• 3-5 years of recognized bookkeeping or (CAS) Client Accounting Service. 
• QuickBooks Experience: Transactional accounting with QuickBooks experience, a minimum of 2 years of recent experience working within QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks desktop. 
• Bookkeeping Experience: Proficient in QuickBooks, ability to navigate various workflows including A/R, A/P, payroll, sales tax, journal entries, financial reporting, 3rd party apps integration, banking and credit card reconciliations. 
• Knowledge of US tax laws, regulations and deadlines. 

Nice to Have: 

• CPA license. 
• Some knowledge of accounting and tax in cannabis industry is a plus
• Strong knowledge and familiarity of US Tax preparation (Business and Personal returns). 
• Bookkeeping certification is a plus
• Credentials/Certifications: QuickBooks Online Pro Certification or QuickBooks Online Advanced Certifications are preferred. 

What will you do? 

• Monthly client accounting/ bookkeeping projects.
• Maintaining client books as per supervisor instructions. 
• Review CAS projects to ensure quality of the following documentation: 

•  Checking Tax Basis of Financials- Cash or Accrual 
•  Matching Balance Sheet to prior year tax return 
•  Reverse entries for AP, AR, Cash, Credit Cards and Loans 
•  Matching Payroll Wages and Payroll Tax to Payroll Tab 
•  Ensure bank and credit card accounts have been properly reconciled each month. 
•  Ensure auto loan accounts have been properly reconciled or adjusted properly. 
•  Analyze balance sheet comparisons and identify any document differences. 
• Verify items under $1K are not capitalized to fixed assets. 
•  Present Revenue variances to Managing Partner for solution. 
•  Present variances in Tax Payable to Managing Partner for solution. 
•  Complete Tax Workpaper allocations on P & L. 
•  Customer Service and communication with Client as needed

• Refresh and ensure accuracy of the following Workpapers: 

• A03 Payroll tab 
• U01 Revenue Tab 
• C01 Cash Tab 
• K01 Tab (Credit Card, Auto Loans and Tax Payable) 

• Assist with miscellaneous projects such as: tax vouchers, extensions. Franchise Tax Board project.
• Assemblies, partner job status meetings- updating jobs in Office Tools (Compliance), Office Tools management, entering clients into LaCerte and client folders.
• Tax Return to pull missing data report from Lacerte for individual tax return for the tax team.
• Back up for support staff as needed.
