The Data Engineer II develops, implements, and maintains software solutions that enable business operations to realize company goals & objectives. The incumbent performs analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing, and support of software applications. May be assigned to develop new applications/systems, enhance/upgrade existing systems or provide production support. He/she works independently on moderately complex projects, receiving only general direction. May provide assistance and direction to less experienced peers.

Essential RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Works with the Agile Program Manager (APM), Digital Product Manager (DPM), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to accurately capture stakeholder requests and system specifications and translate them into engineering artifacts, which typically include design specifications, source code, test scripts and test results.
2. As part of Agile teams, completes software development work which includes application design, coding, code review and testing. Keeps Agile team and APM apprised of project status.
3. Offers suggestions to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve project and program objectives.
4. Manages engineering risks by proactively tracking and communicating issues, and devising methods to mitigating them.
5. Liaises with other project and program areas to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues.
6. Supports business units in the resolution of in-depth user questions and issues following production support process and SLA’s.
7. Maintains a working knowledge of new technology and software engineering standards, practices and tools.
8. Provides input to APM/DPM in creation of Product Roadmap, High Level Estimates
9. Collaborates with IT management to define and develop documentation & engineering artifact standards, guidelines, processes, and templates

Strategic Analytics is a dynamic, growing team at Arch.  The team develops innovative predictive models and analytical tools to improve profitability and growth.  This position will support the technical implementation of predictive models and analytical tools of the Strategic Analytics team.  The position requires strong Python and API experience, as well as user-facing application support experience.  The role is for an individual who is open to exploring and implementing new technology in Azure and Databricks, as the team is dynamic and the technology needs and requirements are fluid and will evolve over time.

• Develop and maintain Azure Functions and APIs
• Develop libraries using Python
• Develop real time data transformations, model variable creation, and orchestration activities to support the scoring process
• Use SQL, Python and Snowflake to explore and understand underlying data, and suggest improvements for performance and best practice
• Document technical workflows and implementation processes
• Create and maintain implementation testing scripts (unit and bulk)

The position is responsible for developing and delivering learning in support of Visa DPS products and services for Dispute and Support Operations (DSO) Dispute Analysts.  Responsibilities include developing business-relevant curriculum, attaining appropriate level of expertise on assigned topics, delivering information effectively, and ensuring all established goals and objectives related to training and development are completed successfully. The trainer will work with the DSO technical writer(s) to update and maintain all training documentation.  They will also create training videos or short stories.  This person will work closely with the trainer(s) in other DSO sites to ensure consistent delivery and processing according to procedures.  Trainer is responsible for all training document creation and review to ensure alignment within sites, service lines, teams and procedures.  Trainer will partner with Quality Assurance, DSO leaders and managers, DSO Technical writer(s), and Visa Training team in order to provide up to date, relevant and engaging training to the team.

Essential Functions

• Identify opportunities to optimize team performance and counsel staff and support staff (quality assurance, training, documentation) on dispute related matter in order to maximize resource utilization and service delivery quality

• Stay current with DSO, Visa, and client business objectives by building effective relationships with product, sales and account teams, as well as DSO leadership

• Partner with other DSO and Visa Trainer(s) to develop skills and material

• Participate in and promote a DSO training assessment and feedback process

• Identify on an ongoing basis potential course or knowledge gaps and /or needs and coordinate with DSO leadership on scheduling as appropriate

• Work with functional groups to plan and develop curriculum per assigned schedule

• Ensure course material accurately reflects and supports the business and strategic objectives of DSO, Visa DPS and its clients
